 Group Rides



Club Rides - we have two official rides weekly as a club.

1. Monday Night Ride called: “The Major Taylor Vine Street Jump Ride” will begin in April of each riding season and end in October until the lack of light no longer allows. Also, weather permitting. At 6:30pm sharp the riders will start the group ride.

“The Major Taylor Vine Street Jump Ride” will be initiated in the parking lot of Danny’s Big Easy on 18th and Vine in Kansas City, Mo. The ride will be conducted by the President of the club, Vice President or by a Volunteer Advocate (Loyalist) member. This social ride presents an excellent opportunity for new members to meet our current members as well as learn riding tactic from more experience riders. All cycling levels from beginners to experience riders are encouraged to join.

2. Saturday Morning Ride called: “The Major Taylor Long View Lake Ride” will begin in April of
each riding season and end in October until the lack of light no longer allows. Also, weather permitting. At 8:00am sharp the riders will start the group ride.

“Major Taylor Long View Lake Ride” will be initiated in the parking lot of Long View Lake Community Center in Lee Summit, Mo. The ride will be conducted or can be conducted by the President of the club, Vice President or by a Volunteer Advocate (Loyalist) member. This social ride presents an excellent opportunity for new members to meet our current members as well as learn distance riding tactic from more experience riders. All cycling levels from beginners to experience riders are encouraged to join.

MTCCKC Annual Ride


Major Taylor Cycling Club of Kansas City Annual Ride - The purpose of this ride is to celebrate the legendary cyclist, Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor. The proceeds from this ride will benefit a charitable organization that will be picked by the officers and club members. This annual ride will be scheduled between June and Sept of each year. This ride will start in the early morning starting at 7am and ending at 4pm. There will be various routes created for non-experienced riders to the experienced rider. There will free food, drinks, and music at the event for all to enjoy.


 MTCCKC-HSS Annual Picnic


This event will consist of a short organized morning ride with club members, family and friends. The Major Taylor Cycling Club/Hill Street Spinners annual picnic is a free family event to build membership and proceeds that will benefit a charitable organization in the Kansas City Area that will be pick by the officers and club members. Club Members cost will be included in their dues, but guests and non-members fee will be determined at a later date. This is a great opportunity to bring a family member or friend to meet club members. There will be food, drinks, and music at the event for all to enjoy.
